Kind Conflict
What is Kind Conflict?
Kind Conflict
is an educational
program designed to educate young people from ages five to fourteen about
conflict resolution. A facilitator guide provides one set of lessons
for children ages five to nine, and another set of lessons for children
ages ten to fourteen. Through discussions and various activities,
children learn about the concept of compromise and explore different ways
to handle conflict.
What is the goal of Kind Conflict?
With the increasing focus
on violence in schools and in society in general, there is a need for
children to learn how to resolve disputes peacefully. Through the
activities and discussions in this program, these skills will be
developed, allowing young people to settle conflicts without resorting to
violence.

Where can the Kind Conflict program be used?
Kind Conflict
can be presented in schools, Brownie, Girl, Cub, or Boy Scout Troops,
church youth groups, recreation centers, day care centers, after school
programs, or in a classroom setting. A facilitator guide offers
step-by-step instructions. Cards needed for the exercises are also
included.
