Conference Scholarship Information


The American Trauma Society, Pennsylvania Division (ATSPA) conference, located at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey PA, examines issues relevant to trauma prevention and care. Our 2019 conference, “Prepare Prevent Provide,” is scheduled for April 23 and 24. To review the conference schedule, please click here.The ATSPA conference is a great opportunity for students to network with over 200 physicians, nurses, social workers, and first responders as well as many exhibitors from various parts of the state. Students will also learn from a diverse group of speakers that will cover the most prevalent topics currently seen in Pennsylvania trauma units.


Scholarship Guidelines:

The ATSPA conference provides students pursing degrees in nursing, social work, physical therapy or occupational therapy and  pre-medical to apply for a scholarship that covers their cost of attendance and conference meals (a $300 value!). It does not cover travel or lodging expenses. Applications are due January 25, 2019 and chosen scholarship winners will be informed no later than February 8, 2019. Students must provide a faculty reference that can be contacted to confirm their current enrollment.

Eligibility Requirements:


Nursing students must be enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program to apply for the nursing scholarship.



Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate program, pursing a medical doctorate degree to apply for the pre-medical scholarship.

Social Work:

Students must be enrolled in a graduate social work program to apply for the social work scholarship.

Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy:

Students must be enrolled in a graduate physical or occupational therapy program to apply for the physical/occupational therapy scholarship.
